Military Law

The needs of a military family and community come with special considerations. Gregory D. Smith won the American Jurisprudence (Am. Jur) award for Military Justice at Cumberland School of Law.

This award marks excellence in the field of studies for each law school subject. With Fort Campbell, Kentucky, so close to Clarksville, Mr. Smith’s studies of military law are extremely relevant.

Gregory D. Smith acted as lead civilian counsel in a military court-martial before a “panel” (the military version of a jury). He also won at the U.S. Army Court of Criminal Appeals (just outside of Washington, D.C.). Mr. Smith regularly appears before the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee and the United States District Court for the Western District of Kentucky at Fort Campbell.

For military households, questions regarding divorce, education, unannounced family moves and even basic health insurance can become complicated legal questions. Gregory D. Smith is familiar with the Uniform Code of Military Justice and its system. Initial consultations are free.
